Filling Smoothie High in Healthy Fats

Truth in advertising:  I love big, hearty breakfasts.  I love starting my morning with eggs, bacon, and sausage and a leisurely cup of coffee (or three, but who’s counting).

The problem is that my schedule doesn’t always allow for big, lazy breakfasts.  Sometimes I’m lucky to have ten minutes between getting ready and getting out the door to my first appointment.  On those days, I don’t want to choke down greek yogurt in the car or try to juggle a P3 snack tray while driving.  I still want that leisurely, full feeling without having to sit still for 20 minutes to make it happen.  On those busy mornings, I reach for this Vanilla Avocado Almond Smoothie.

It takes about a minute and a half to prep and it keeps me full for hours.

Those of you who are used to “healthy” smoothies from juice bars are probably rolling your eyes because you know full well that you’re starving or riding a sugar buzz within 20 minutes of finishing a smoothie.  This isn’t like that.  The protein and avocado give this smoothie a lot of substance and very little sugar.  You’ll get the fullness of a full breakfast without the sugar coma of a smoothie.  It’s the best of both worlds.

Vanilla Avocado Almond Smoothie

Yield: 4
Prep Time: 2 minutes


  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 2 medium avocados
  • 4 tbs almond butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 4 scoops 1st Phorm vanilla protein powder
  • 4 cups unsweetened vanilla almond milk


  1. Assemble smoothie packs by putting 1/4 tsp cinnamon, 1/2 avocado, 1 Tbs almond butter, and 1/4 tsp vanilla extract each in 4 ziploc bags.
  2. When you’re ready to blend, add 1 cup of almond milk and 1 scoop of protein powder. Blend until smooth.


Vegetarian: Absolutely

Gluten Free: All 1st Phorm flavors EXCEPT the ice cream sandwich varieties are GF, so you're good

Dairy Free: You can make it happen w/ nut milks
