This week we:
Taken stock of our current situations with our Snapshots: Day 1.
Dreamed crazy-big, amazing dreams about what we want to accomplish with our year: Day 2.
Taken stats, measurements, and photos of our starting points: Day 3.
Gotten honest with ourselves about our why: Day 4.
Learned about the “magic bullets” to weight loss success: Day 5.
Covered the basics of macronutrients: Day 6.
Today’s plan is to start tracking! Download MyFitnessPal (it’s free) or any of the other food tracking apps. We prefer MFP because all of our MacroEd recipes are already in the database and we think it’s pretty easy to use. But if you’d rather us something different, go for it. I’ve heard great things about Macros+ as well.
Whatever you use, grab it and start tracking your food. Don’t worry about setting macro goals or following MFPs recommendations (seriously, please don’t follow MFPs default recommendations…lol). Just track what you eat.
If you eat something w/ a barcode, scan it.
If you eat something from a chain restaurant, look it up.
If you eat something homemade, use this to help you upload your recipe.
If you can’t find your thing exactly, estimate it.
Whatever you eat or drink, log it. “Every nibble gets a scribble.” Don’t change your habits. Don’t do anything differently than usual. Just eat and log. This will give you a picture of what your current “normal” is really like.
RECORD what you find. At the end of the day (most likely tomorrow), record your total calories, fats, carbs, and proteins.
Tomorrow (Jan 8 at 9p EST), we’ll be having a webinar LIVE in our Facebook Group.
We’ll talk about:
- the results of your tracking
- our MacroEd goals
- everything you need to know about our upcoming challenge
Please, please, please come and hang out. We’ll include a Q&A session so bring all the questions that have bubbled up as you’ve worked through this week.
It’s hard to believe that we’ve come to the end of our seven-day New Year Challenge! It has been a total honor to get to work with you as you made plans for the upcoming year! Can’t wait to see you tomorrow at the webinar! You don’t need to do anything to register. Just be in our FB group around 9p EST and the video will show up for ya.
All the best,
You've Got Mail! Well, you will soon.
