Paninos

Forgot your lunch? Need a quick, simple, macro-friendly snack that’s ready to grab and go for busy nights?  You need Paninos.  This recipe is embarrassingly easy and can be customized for your preferences.

These are sticks of cheese with meat wrapped around them. So, the basic paninos are mozzarella string cheese and salami, but you know I don’t like to leave anything basic around here.  😉

I use the panino concept for any meat + cheese roll up that feels right.  Here are a few I think you’ll love:

sharp cheddar + honey ham
spicy pimento cheese (you know I’m trying to have babies with Palmetto cheese) + salami
white cheddar + buffalo chicken deli meat
colby jack + pepperoni
pepperjack + roast beef (I really feel like roast beef is the most underrated lunch meat there is…anyone with me on that?)                                                      Mozzarella Cheese + Prosciutto

Also, consider adding banana pepper rings to your paninos.  I break the ring so it’ll lay flat beside the cheese.  It adds a perfect little bite to the meat and cheese combo.  That tip brought to you by my girl Christina Haymaker.  🙂

Many people following the keto diet have discovered this snack. So, now you can totally buy these pre-made at the grocery store too for those lazy or busy days. Even Aldi has them.  I just get too cheap for all of that sometimes, plus you are limited on your choices.

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Ingredients

  • 6 string cheese sticks
  • 6 slices Genoa salami

Instructions

  1. Take cheese sticks and wrap in sliced salami.
  2. Note: You can also buy these pre-made in the deli section but they are more expensive that way.

Notes

Modifications:

Vegetarian: Not today.

Gluten Free: Absolutely! Just watch your salami.

Dairy Free: Not with this one.
