Member Spotlight: Kim

You guys, every success story that comes across our desks makes us happy, proud, and humble to be a part of your journeys.  I know we say it all the time, but Jeremy and I sincerely have the best jobs in the world with you guys.  This success story I get to share with you today is special because it wasn’t quick or easy.  And because MacroEd was able to optimize our member’s hard work.  We weren’t her starting point, but we plan to be there every step of the way to her goal weight and maintenance time.  So, say hello to our friend Kim.  She’s one of our original members when we started last January.  She’s lost 127 lbs, y’all.  All through diet thus far (though we hope a love affair with lifting is in her near future).  I’ll let her tell you about her journey.  Prepare to be inspired!

How long have you been a part of MacroEd? 
Since January 4, 2016

What are your goals?
Weight/body fat loss, begin fitness routine, learn to make this way of eating a lifestyle change

How have you changed? (Physically, mentally, emotionally, etc).
I started this journey hoping to change my entire physical being and didn’t realize how much this would change me mentally and emotionally. I have said all along that weight loss is the biggest mind blowing journey ever. Besides the physicality of losing 127lbs (half of this being from MacroEd), I am more confident, focused, and eager to help others.

How did you make the program fit into your daily life?
I like to plan my day out and log my food ahead of time so I can see where I need to tweak my numbers, if need be. If I go out to eat, I get online and look the menu up ahead of time to see what I can fit in my macros. If I travel I make sure to bring portable food and most importantly know where all the coffee places are 🙂

What’s your favorite macro-friendly food?
I am a very simple meal person. I am gluten and dairy free so I cant enjoy many of the recipes that Ashley has posted… but my favorite protein source when I need to up my numbers is shrimp. Avocado and ghee are my favorite healthy fats.

What would you say to someone considering MacroEd? 
DO IT! Trust the process. I still don’t trust it sometimes and think that Im doing something wrong because the scale isn’t moving, but take measurements AND progress pics.. trust me, you’ll want to

What’s your best piece of advice for our new friends? 
Use the MacroEd support group. Get involved in activities. Participate in the live Q&A’s, and just start tracking your macros.

What’s next for you?
I still have a lot of weight to lose, so just staying the course.  I plan on beginning a fitness routine, as thus far, I have lost all my weight just by diet.  I need to learn the proper way to weightlift.  I tell Jeremy this all the time: my goal is to look good naked.  🙂
